Tony Thornton is the RIBA-USA Northwest Chapter Chair.

Tony was born and educated in the UK. A graduate of the University of Sheffield, he became a licensed architect and Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1986. With over 35 years professional experience, Tony has cultivated expertise in architecture, interior design, brand design, workplace and real estate strategy. He has a diverse portfolio, encompassing projects across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

Having previously practiced in the UK and the Czech Republic, Tony made a pivotal move to the United States in 2013. Currently serving as a Principal in Gensler’s San Francisco office, he specializes in the design and delivery of workplace architecture and interiors.
