What's your favorite thing about architecture?

Architecture is about people. It touches everyone’s daily life. As professionals, we play a pivotal role in using architecture as a force for good. To have a career through which I can make a positive impact on a person, a family, or a community is a gift.

Why did you become an RIBA member?

RIBA has a worldwide reputation for high professional and ethical standards in the practice of architecture. My RIBA membership reflects my commitment to those values.

What kind of projects does your firm do?

Primarily commercial, educational, governmental, and healthcare.

What’s your favorite project you've worked on so far and why?

Freedom House in Green Bay, Wisconsin is a recently completed project embodying what I believe is particularly good and important about architecture: when it marries empathy with inspiring design to uplift the soul. Freedom House provides emergency shelter, meals, and comprehensive programming for families struggling with homelessness to regain their independence.
